Chinese New Year 2014 - Get Your Supplies Here

Celebrating the Year of the Horse takes some planning and this store seems to have all the supplies needed for a good celebration. I like the idea of the inflatable firecrackers as they must be quieter than the real ones that seem to wake up the neighborhood @ 3 am. Hey, whatever it takes to make it a good year. Happy New Year! May the Year of the Horse be a good one for all of us.

Name the New Store

A store front in Tien Mu, Taipei had this display posted and I could not help but wonder what kind of shop was opening. Would it be a dog spa? A pet store or a vegetable store? The dog looks happy so I figure it had to be a pet spa!

What-A-Wall Near Ln 69 Tien Mu

I admire the art, colors, characters and action but exactly what this represents I am not sure. It just is.

Wenwu Temple Sun Moon Lake

Wenwu Temple overlooks Sun Moon Lake and has a unique collection of bells that are used as offerings. The view from the upper levels of the temple, there are three levels, offer a nice perspective of the lake and the rooflines of the temple. A visit here was a nice way to celebrate Thanksgiving in 2012.

The Year of the Dragon as represented by this statue in the 2012 display of Chinese New Year Dragons in Taipei. Each year the display of the statues of the animal that represents the New Year is spectacular. Even on a cool, damp, foggy night it is worth the effort to see these works while they are on display.

This is the 101 building in Taipei on a Chinese New Year night in 2012. The fog was thick, the moon so bright and while walking around the display of Dragons laid out for celebrating the Year of the Dragon, this was what caught my eye.

Kaoshiung Temple Dog

On a drive through the pineapple plantations outside of Kaoshiung we came upon a temple where this temple dog was one of a pair who were standing guard.
