A view from the road, a glimpse of the world.
Longing for the calm that comes from the lake.

The First Day Pause that Refreshes
What is better than quenching your thirst on a hot day? Sitting on a street corner in HCMC (Saigon) and watching life on the street while you satisfy that thirst with a Saigon (or Tiger) beer! Notice the lovely mass of wires strewn overhead. If you ever wonder how it all works, don't. Pity the electrician who is called to duty when it breaks-down.
A teacher for many years in the USA, Thailand, Egypt, Indonesia, Israel and Taiwan, I have tried to have a "full experience" in the countries I have lived in. I always try to improve my teaching through observing colleagues and from web-based resources. Today, the use of technology has changed the role educators play. Educational practices are changing in order to recognize and embrace all that technology brings to our programs and all that technology makes possible for our students. We wanted lifelong learners, independent learners. Now we have more of these independent learners because they make use of technology to collaborate and further their interests.
