Bayon Temple Siem Reap, Cambodia October 2010

Maybe Bayon is my favorite temple of the complex in Siem Reap. The faces: multiple, stern, omnipresent, royal, just draw me in to see every angle, every inch of this magnificent structure. On this day, the blue sky and clouds drifted by as if to set the stage for the "Bayon show".  I can only imagine what life in the complex of temples was like years ago. And I marvel at the construction of these amazing temples, made from huge stones, carved from mountains about 30 km away and delivered by elephants to the site where they were assembled to make the temples.
